The Federal Ministry of Education has launches Student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) program across Nigeria for Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences (STEMMS) who is currently enrolled in any recognized universities, polytechnics and colleges. 

This Student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) program was initiatives to support STEMMS students with grant to complete their Studies. This program is targets to empower innovative student entrepreneurs across the country.

Federal Ministry of Education will offers grant sum of ₦50 million to support students to complete their projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences (STEMMS) under the Student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) Program.

Student Venture Capital Grant Program is specifically opens for 300 level and above students who are currently enrolled in any recognized Nigerian tertiary institutions (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges). Federal ministry of education is targets to empower more than 1000 Students in SVCG program.

Student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) Program Requirements 

To be eligible for the Student Venture Capital Grant Program, candidates must have satisfy the following conditions: 

  • Must be a citizens of Nigeria 
  • Must be currently enrolled in any recognized universities, polytechnics or colleges 
  • Must be in 300 Level and above in universities, polytechnics or colleges 
  • Must be in any one of the following fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences (STEMMS).

Student Venture Capital Grant Application Process 

  • Upload your Business Information: Candidates for both teams or students must upload a cleared business information, business video pitch and fund needed for the Student Venture Capital Grant application website.
  • Review and Notifications: All Applications must undergo various stages of review. 
  • Verification and Shortlisted: Approved teams will work at a rigorous verification stages to find the solution.
  • Access to Funding: Teams who has been approved will access to funding in batches

How to Apply SVCG Program

Candidates interested to apply for the  student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) Initiatives should strictly follows the instructions below:

1. SVCG Program Portal: Candidates should visit the SVCG official program portal through https://svcg.education.gov.ng/.

2. Apply Tap Button: After visiting the program official portal, candidates should click on the “Apply Now” to start application.

3. Select Role: After clinked on the Apply Now it will automatically redirect you to the new tap where you can select your role, you can select as an investor or student to participate in student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) program.

4. Create Account: Candidates are required to create an account with your personal information such includes Full Name, email address, address and password etc.

5. SVCG Application Form: Candidates should complete an application form and uploads all the mandatory documents.

6. Application Submission: After successfully completed step 1-5, candidates should double check their details to ensure there is no errors and click on submit an application.

7. Application Approval: Once candidates is successfully submitted their application form should wait for the SVCG board to shortlist candidates for next phase of the application process.
